An opportunity has arisen for an Infotainment Design Engineer to support our global automotive client in their vision to deliver the most distinct and innovative range of road vehicles, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Here at Assystem Technologies, we're looking to speak to engineers who've graduated with an automotive, electrical or electronics degree and are keen to be at the forefront of the launch of various vehicle projects into competitive global markets. We are seeking an Infotainment Design Engineer to be based within Bedfordshire, on a long-term contract basis.

The role falls into two very distinct parts:

1. Feature Owner of Infotainment Systems:
 Feature owner of a core area of the Infotainment system: Connectivity (Bluetooth, Wifi,
Apple CarPlay etc), Navigation (Routing, Map data, Premium traffic, etc.), HMI (UI/UX), Back
End (Hardware, Diagnostics, Vehicle Integration, etc.)
 Each feature owner is expected to become European expert for that area, developing the
European feature requirements through Technical knowledge, understanding competitor
solutions and analysing European customer feedback.
 The feature owner then works with our global R&D teams to ensure that future solutions are
specified and delivered to meet these European requirements.

In addition, the successful candidate will have a role to manage the Infotainment solution
into one or more vehicle projects:
2. Vehicle Lead for Infotainment Systems
 Create and maintain configuration data
 Manage concerns found during testing with the appropriate feature owners
 Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to Quality, Cost & Timing targets
 Collaborate with related engineering sections to ensure all system components are
packaged and connected correctly to meet all system design and regulatory requirements.
 Status reporting to management at all levels.

You will need to have a thorough understanding and experience of Infotainment system development plus knowledge and experience in at least one core infotainment feature such as connectivity, navigation, HMI or Back-end development.

The successful engineer will have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic development, completing a
minimum of one previous vehicle development cycle, or be able to demonstrate equivalent
experience on a major development program.
