The Company and the Role:
The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects.
The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton.
It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Labourer-Civils.
Opportunities exist with the company on the project which is likely to start around mid – July until November 2019. There is a strong possibility that the role could be extended to March 2020.
Key Features of the Role:
Assist tradesmen and use your skills as a Labourer to assist machine operators in construction projects and erect and break up scaffolding, ramps etc. with attention to safety.
Unload and carry materials at construction sites and use equipment to break old forms and structures.
Utilise you your Labourer skills to prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps (e.g. cement) and smooth and level new concrete or other materials.
Follow hazard elimination program (HELP).
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally experienced as a Labourer in operating equipment like trench rammers, drills, pneumatic hammers and a knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.)
Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods and able to read instructions and blueprints when needed.
Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company.
What’s on Offer?
A minimum of £25,200 pro rata on a temporary worker basis.(Possibly more for an exceptional candidate).
No Holidays are offered or expected to be taken during the 3-4 month period from mid -July to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
