The Company and the Role:
The company is a major Steel Fabrication, Engineering and Construction company involved in Structural Steel Fabrication, Bridging, Motor Transport Engineering, Building and Construction works.
Current contracts are in mining, government and private business ventures.
They are seeking a Plant Maintenance and Hire Manager to be based in Papua New Guinea. The position is offered on a 3 year renewable contract.
Key Features of the Role:
As a Plant Maintenance and Hire Division Manager your key responsibilities will include organising, planning and implementing all maintenance activities relating to mobile or fixed plant assets.
Ensuring the company mobile plant assets are maintained and utilised appropriately and make recommendations to senior managers
Organise, plan and create a marketing strategy covering all activities relating to the rental of plant equipment to external and internal customers.
Recruiting and training staff and ensure effective labour utilisation and monitor warranty and obtain new warranty agreements where possible.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ideally an accomplished Plant Maintenance and Hire Manager with a degree in Mechanical, Engineering or maintenance management or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and experience in similar roles within fabrication and construction industries.
Experienced in mechanical and electrical maintenance with a trade related certification
Proficient in computing software such as Microsoft Office; Excel and Word.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a driver’s licence.
What’s on Offer?
£96k – 110k salary per annum is offered depending upon your experience and skill set and is paid in Australian Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
A 3 year contract is offered which includes free accommodation, vehicle, life assurance and health insurance. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
The holiday entitlement is 5 weeks with 2 free flights per annum back to your home base.
