The Company provides radar technologies and capabilities of detecting the smallest of targets in clutter. The Company meets the surveillance, safety and security needs of a large variety of land and sea clients across the globe.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Regional Sales Director to join the Company at a site in North London. The position is permanent.
As the Regional Sales Director selling Single Side Band (SSB) products and systems in primarily the marine sector to their global customers, you will need to take ownership of the whole sales process from: prospect identification, through qualification, presentation, proposals, negotiation, contracts and closure. Post sales activities will be required in order to ensure that the contracted goods are delivered as agreed.
You will need to be able to identify and prioritise key market areas so that you can meet your own targets established by Sales Forecasts. Establish and maintain global market representation & help identify new or other marketing opportunities. The skill of key account management will be important and the ability to negotiate and agree contracts on behalf of the Company. Understanding the customer’s requirements and being able to advise them on system design will help benefit your relationship with those accounts.
The Company will expect you to identify new markets and services, plan and execute sales activities as defined by the Divisional Head, to whom you report. Input data into Company system to feed the sales forecast for the areas as defined. You will be required to use the Company’s system to provide information on opportunities. Attending conferences and exhibitions, meeting with customers and partners, will be required. Requests could be made at short notice.
You will be expected to comply with any reasonable operational instruction or procedures relating to Company’s policies, reporting and controls.
Key Features of the Role:
Candidates will need to be able to make presentations to both customers and internal departments, liaise with overseas marketing channels and take full responsibility for the profitability of accounts, including payment terms & debt management / recovery where required.
You will be required to contribute to and maintain data to support the Marketing Databases and keep up-to-date with the Company’s products and solutions not only for your customers but also the Company’s Product Development and new Product design.
Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Sales Manager with a proven track record of experience within a technical sales environment will be important plus the ability to show an understanding of running customer’s accounts and continued customer relationship management, will all be necessary for the role.
Commercial acumen must be shown, with preferably, good experience of Profit and Loss (P&L).
Although it would be good to see candidates from the marine industry this is not a prerequisite and experience in other industries or sectors will be just as welcome and acceptable.
Up-to-date knowledge with standard Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
