Fantastic award-winning Gastro Pub Group looking for a passionate Roving Sous Chef to join their successful permanent kitchen teams centred around Kent and the South East, genuine fresh food and creative menu environment.

Each venue offers the gastro pub classics at the core of its menu, however the opportunity to bring in creative, new modern or classic menu items with influence from around the world is actively encouraged.
The Company will offer you an exciting and exceptional opportunity to work with multiple kitchen brigade teams within their group, under the guidance of the Executive Chef for the business, with realistic 1st choice promotional opportunities within the 8 venues, to progress your career to Head Chef.
Each venue works with locally sourced fresh food, offering a range of menu items with various cuisine influences, with some venues offering distinct smoked items at reasonable price points.
The Company will offer you the chance to work with 4 or 5 local and genuine award winning venues, where you will act as the Sous Chef or stand in for the Head Chef where required for set periods of time, nurturing and developing the kitchen team during your stay, and supporting the venue General Manager as a trusted Roving Sous Chef or Head Chef.
Key Features of the Role:
The successful Roving Sous Chef will be able to carry out the following responsibilities and tasks, across 4 or 5 venues, and be trusted to produce good quality menu items.
Part of a multi-award-winning gastro pub team, lending your positive attitude and aptitude to boost, lead and manage the brigade, to produce food it can be proud of and worthy of its reputation and award-winning accolades.
All food is prepared on site using the best ingredients, using carefully sourced suppliers, so you will need to treat each dish created with the same level of respect and passion.
Assisting the Head Chef or covering for the Head Chef and supporting the venue General Manager, taking on all of the responsibilities and duties required, and all aspects of the kitchen, including training, gross profit margins, stock control and hygiene.
Constant new challenge and environment, moving from venue to venue, exposure to new teams and people, who could influence you or build long term career friendships with.
Working full time 5 days per week as a Roving Sous Chef, covering straight and split shift work patterns as the business requires. Driving to and from venues or potentially staying close to site for agreed periods of time, to support and help in a Roving Sous Chef capacity.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Sous Chef with experience leading and or managing a kitchen team, or possibly an experienced Head Chef.
Worked in a similar Gastro Pub or restaurant-based environment full time, and able to work both straight and split shifts in a busy kitchen environment.
Either professional catering qualification or certificates would be ideal, however proven employment tenures and career development will be considered as an alternative.
You must have your own transport to get to the 4 or 5 local venues up to an hour’s drive away, as is no reliable public transport links. You must also be willing to drive and work away from home if required for agreed periods of time 1-4 weeks in some cases.
Experience in a fresh food or award-winning kitchens and restaurants would be ideal.
You must have a passionate attitude and be able to show a positive aptitude in the kitchen, as you may be asked to step outside of your comfort zone, to learn new dishes, techniques and cuisine influences, lead and mentor others who you may not have managed before.
What’s on Offer?
The Roving Sous Chef role will offer a basic salary ranging from £26K - £28K basic salary + Tips (on average £80 per week) + Mileage + Discretionary Bonus + Staff Loyalty Bonus Scheme.
Full time permanent working hours of 45 per week, 5 days per week, 28 days holiday.
