Senior Construction Logistics Manager  £60k – £75k Belgium

The company

Essex based, one of the industry leaders, a privately owned successful specialised contract cleaning company with contracts throughout the UK and Europe, providing Industrial Abseiling, Window Cleaning, Access Equipment, Specialist Cleaning, Pest Control and Bird Proofing Solutions

The role

Based at the construction site, to manage the logistics on a major construction project in Belgium with responsibility for all aspects of the logistics supply chain and Stores Management and pre-planning  the usage of materials and assets to meet the needs of the programme.

This is a fixed term contract until July 2020, with possible full time employment once the construction contract is completed.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure contract deadlines are achieved
  • Manage the purchase ordering of materials, PPE and equipment
  • Control materials in and out of site by scheduling deliveries to specific time slots. 
  • Maintain weekly inspections and associated records.
  • Management of 150 on site supervisors and staff

The candidate

The successful candidate must have previous experience in running major construction projects, looking after all logistics processes on site, from Procurement, Waste Management, Traffic Management, Welfare Facility Management to Lifting Operations along with the site cleaning teams.

Must haves are

  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • CSCS Managers card
  • Computer Literate
  • English language skills

Ideally you will have experience with Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and booking in deliveries and managing the allocated times and schedule.

NVQ 6 (minimum) in Construction Management would be an advantage and other construction related certificates would be beneficial but not essential.
All other necessary training will be provided.

Salary and benefits

A competitive salary is on offer and the working times will be a 5 day week Monday – Friday with accommodation and travel back and forth at weekends if necessary.
