You will be expected to take full ownership of the assigned tasks and to assist the customer and Project Manager in achieving the Project objectives. The main focus of the role will be to work with the customer Supply Chain and Engineering to reduce non-conformance, reduce cost and improve delivery performance. Candidates would ideally have experience of manufacturing processes such as machining, inspection, welding and treatments within a gas turbine component manufacturing environment. Knowledge of process improvement (Lean 6 sigma), would also be of advantage.
Role Description / Responsibilities:
Work with the Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering teams to support a number of improvement work streams
Non-conformance analysis route cause & corrective action.
Process Capability process improvement
Desirable Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Manufacturing Engineer with process improvement background
Wide breadth of knowledge in manufacturing and improvement techniques
Experience and understanding of machining, casting, inspection and modern manufacturing processes
Improvement tools & techniques identification of route cause and implementation of corrective action
Good presentation & communication skills confident with clear and concise spoken and written word
Willingness to work on their own to push tasks through to completion.
Candidates should be educated to a minimum of HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline. Suitable engineering experience will be considered as an alternative.
Candidates must have experience in the manufacture of high integrity components and ideally would have worked in a gas turbine manufacturing environment.
Ideally candidates will have some experience in the following sectors:-
Gas turbine OEM or Supply Chain.
High end, precision engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, medical manufacturing industry.
